He is the only coach in history to win the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, Orange and Cotton Bowls. Penn State is believed to be the first college to adopt the lion as a mascot which was chosen by the student body in 1906 in honor of the mountain lion which once roamed central Pennsylvania. Penn State Has Won 63 National Team Championships. NFL Hall of Famers Lenny Moore, Franco Harris and Rosey Grier were former Lions along with members of "Linebacker U", Jack Ham, Matt Millen, Lavar Arrington, and Shane Conlan to name a few. Lydell Mitchell, 1973 Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti, and former LA Dodger and current Angels Manager Mike Scioscia also attended.
